General Information
The 2003 Chinese North
American Sport Association Cup 1st Table Tennis Group
Tournament will be held at MIT DuPond Athletic
Center on Saturday, April 19, 2003.
The captains of
participating teams shall arrive before 9:00 am. Team Registration (Captain
sign in) and Lot Drawing will begin at 8:30 to 9:00 Am promptly. All the players shall arrive
before 9:00 am and the game will begin at 9:00 am promptly.
There are totally six
levels in this tournament. These six levels are: Men’ A, Men’s B’ Men’ C, Women,
Junior and Senior. The matches for all six levels will begin at the same time
(9:00 AM) at different tables. There are totally twelve tables in this event.
Before the match, the
captain of each team shall submit a list consisting of three players to event
organizer. The name of the player on the list should be ranked from No.1 seed
player to No. 3 seed player. The order of individual games in each group match
is as following:
Game 1: No.1 seed from one team vs No. 2 seed from other
team;
Game 2: No.2 seed from one team vs No. 1 seed from other
team;
Game 3: No.3 seed from one team vs No. 3 seed from other
team;
Game 4 (?): No.1 seed from one team vs No. 1 seed from other
team ( if necessary);
Game 5 (?): No.2 seed from one team vs No. 2 seed from other
team ( if necessary);
The team wins the three
games out of five game totals is the winning team.
Schedules
Men’s A
There are five teams in
this level.
These five teams will play against
each other.
Men’s B
There are twelve teams in
this level.
In round 1, these twelve
teams will be divided into four groups, 1, 2, 3 & 4, three teams in each
group. In each group, each team will have a chance to play against other two
teams in the same group. There will be three team matches in each group. After
round 1, two teams from each group with the best record will advance to Round
2. Eight teams will advance to Round 2.
In Round 2, the first place
from group 1 will play against the second place from group 2 , the first place from group 2 will play
against the second place from group 1; the first place from group 3 will play
against the second place from group 4 ,
the first place from group 4 will play against the second place from
group 3. The four winning teams will advance to Round 3.
In Round 3 (semi-final), the two winning teams in
group 1 & 2 will play against each other, and the two winning teams in
group 3 & 4 will play against each other.
In Round 4 (final), the two winning teams from
the Round 3 will play for the First and Second place in this level. The other
two teams from Round 3 will play for Third place.
Men’s C
There will be ten teams in
this level.
In round 1, these ten teams
will be divided into two groups, 1 & 2, five teams in each group. In each
group, each team will have a chance to play against other four teams in the
same group. There will be ten team matches in each group. After round 1, two
teams from each group with the best record will advance to Round 2.
In Round 2 (semi-final), the first place from group
1 will play against the second place from group 2, and the first place from
group 2 will play against the second place from group 1.
In Round 3 (final), the two winning teams
from the Round 2 will play for the First and Second place in this level, the
other two teams from Round 2 will play for Third place.
The schedule will be as
same as the schedule of Men’s A.
Women
There are ten teams in this
level.
The schedule will be as
same as the schedule of Men’s C.
Mixed Junior (Cadet)
There are twelve girl
and boy mixed teams in this level.
The schedule will be as
same as the schedules of Men’s B.
Senior
There are two teams in this
level. There will be one match between these two teams. The winner will be awarded
as “Senior Honour”.
Awarding Ceremony
All top three winning
teams from Men’s A, B, and C, Women and Mixed Junior (Cadet) will be awarded by
trophies by the end of each game level.
All games will be end by 5:30pm.

back
